RATING: READ IT
There are five books in the Maine Attraction series by Elisabeth Grace. The first, Indecision, is a standalone novel. It’s a really fun, quick read and the chemistry between Jackie + Jamie is off the charts. Plus, a cop in a black uniform? Such a perfect way to begin a novel, don’t you think?
I will say that I found Indecision a bit predictable, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book one bit and it certainly didn’t stop me from reading the next four books in the series, Indiscretion Vols. 1-4, the story of Max + Chloe. In fact, as predictable as I found Indecision, I didn’t see half of the twists and turns coming down the pike in Indiscretion. Trust me, neither will you.
If you’re a KU addict, which you likely are if you’re reading this blog, you read A LOT. And if you’re reading this blog, you have read countless novels in the wide-ranging romance genre. We all know the drill: guy and girl meet. Sparks fly. They get together. Sometimes begrudgingly. There’s a split that’s generally due to a misunderstanding. They clear the air and live happily ever after. I know I’m simplifying things, but that’s the general theme. You might start out thinking Indiscretion will take that well-traveled road, but it does not. Kudos to Ms. Grace for taking us down this road. It was heartfelt and risky and lovely and I for one truly enjoyed the ride.
Lastly, after reading what probably amounts to thousands of sex scenes in my lifetime, I sometimes think I’m a bit jaded. I love reading about sex, but as you all know, it’s not just about the sex ~ it’s all about the writing. Well, let me tell you, Ms. Grace can write some damn good sex scenes. There were a few twists and turns in that regard as well that you don’t often read about in the ‘vanilla’ world. Nothing too extreme, but most definitely hot.
As of 1.16.15, all titles are available on KU
