RATING: READ IT
If you like a sweet read, Lingus by Mariana Zapata is your book. If you like them dirty and sexy, then I’d say Skip It. Personally, I like a book with more edge and a lot of sex. For me, that was lacking here, but the story and cast of characters were adorable and I thought it was funny and well written.
Lingus is the story of Kat + Tristan. Kat is a school teacher that loves porn. Tristan is a porn star. Kat goes to a porn convention. Tristan is at said convention and they, of course, meet. [I’ll admit, the whole porn star thing did make me think there would be a heck of a lot more sex…]
The story doesn’t go exactly as you think it will. It’s way more complicated than I’m making it out to be ~ of course. However, it wasn’t entirely predictable, which always makes me happy. And, there wasn’t drama for drama’s sake. I generally dislike when there are plot twists and minefields that blow up that didn’t really need to be there. This book thankfully doesn’t do that.
Quite frankly, it’s just a cute read. That’s not a bad thing. Again, if you like edgy/dirty/sexy, this book is not for you. However, if you’re in the mood for cute and funny with a side of sexy, go for it.
As of 1.27.16, Lingus is available on KU.
