Welcome to our first installment of the KUBR One-Click Addict Recap! If you’re new to KU Book Reviews, we’re thrilled to have you here. If you’re a regular, think of this as us simply bringing you 10 more great books each month.
If you’re new to KUBR, we do things a little differently around here. Given books on Kindle Unlimited are only a part of the program for 90-day stints (unless an author re-enrolls it in the program), it’s possible that some of our KU recs might be a little outdated when you come to find them. To combat that, we have our very own trademarked review system that we call, “Read It, Skip It or Buy It™” Here’s what each rating means:
Read It ~ Simply stated, we think you should read this book. It’s a part of the KU program and we really enjoyed it. Well worth your time!
Skip It ~ Not a rating we use often, but if we’ve read through an entire book and feel strongly that it should not be read for one reason or another, we’ll give it the SI rating and let you know exactly why we felt that way. Basically, even though it’s technically free and part of the KU program, we don’t recommend it.
Buy It ~ Here’s where it gets interesting. When a book gets a Buy It rating from KUBR, these are the books that we absolutely fell in LOVE with! We feel that whether or not it’s available on KU at the time that you read our review, it’s a book that we strongly recommend and it’s a book that we would buy, KU or not.
For the most part, we review new releases (book released in the past few months). However, sometimes an older book is newly released to KU or there’s an older book that’s been on KU that we want you to know about. We call those our Retro Releases. Pretty self-explanatory, right?
So there you have it. Oh, one more thing! We are vehemently anti-spoiler and very often have a lot less detail than you might be used to in most reviews. We focus more intently on how a book makes us feel, what we like, what we don’t like and anything else we feel we think you should know when deciding on whether or not to read a book. Things like the heat (slow burn, dark and dirty, etc.) in the book, if there are a lot of typos, certain words (think “daddy”) and other little peccadillos that we, as readers, think are worth noting.
We’re thrilled to have you here!

Now, let’s get on with the reviews!
READ IT: Filthy Foreign Exchange, Book 1 by SE Hall & Angela Graham ~ Contrary to the title, this book is really sweet. If you’re looking for sex, this isn’t the book for you, despite its name. However, over at KU Book Reviews, if there’s a slow burn book or fade-to-black, I’m never the one to review it. I like me my book sex! That said, I adored this book. It was sweet and filled with palpable, but sweet, sexual tension. The characters were interesting and well-developed. I found myself really liking Echo + Kingston. FFE is a series (even though it’s not quite a cliffie), which I didn’t realize going in, and Book 2 comes out mid-June. I will definitely download it the day it’s released on KU!
READ IT: Explicit by Roxy Sloane ~ From the get-go, this book is hot with a capital H. The story of Ellie + Jackson ~ editor and author. Jackson is the consummate Alpha and Ellie is most certainly a worthy match. I read this book in one evening, with about an hour left to finish for when my insomnia showed up in the middle of the night. In addition to their relationship, I loved the way Ellie’s work and home life was developed and most especially, her relationship with her two best friends, Bianca and Maggie. What I thought would be a fast, hot read, turned out to be so much more. I am very much looking forward to reading more of Ms. Sloane’s work.
READ IT: Confessions of a Bad Boy by JD Hawkins ~ Confessions is the story of Nate, the Bad Boy (BB), and Jessie, his best friend’s sister. Going into Confessions, it’s safe to assume that the bad boy is going to be reformed. What I didn’t expect is to like Nate so much. Yes, he’s a BB in the sexual sense, but inside he’s a really good, decent guy. Nate + Jessie grew up together, so it’s through their relationship that we get to understand Nate beyond his current-day BB status. Of course, the sex is great, but getting to know Nate and his past made Confessions a very solid Read It.
BUY IT: The All-Star Antes Up (Wager of Hearts Book 2) by Nancy Herkness ~ The All-Star Antes Up is the second book in the Wager of Hearts series. For a full review, and why we rated it a Buy It, click here.
