4 New KU Read Its by Christine

Hook Up: A Bad Boy Sport Romance by Bella Love-Wins – This is a short, steamy sports hook up. Chris James is a NFL hopeful. He meets Jo right before heading back to college before his senior year. They have a hot hook up in a bar bathroom and then part ways, never thinking they will see each other again. The next day, Chris is headed back to school, and finds Jo stranded on the side of the road with her heap of a car. He convinces her to take a ride from him. Jo has led a hard life and it’s hard for her to accept help. Through their story, you find them relying on each other and finding balance in their lives. I loved the way that Chris wanted to take care of Jo from the beginning and he never acted like a cocky athlete. Jo is sassy and a fun heroine. We get a chance to meet some of Chris’ teammates. I would have liked to see more of the relationship between Chris and some of the other characters, but I can see that they all will get their own stories, so I will wait. I really enjoyed this book.

Destination Connelly (The Colloway Brothers Book 4) by KL Kreig – I have been eagerly anticipating Connelly’s story. He is the last of the Colloway brothers to settle down. Connelly has been existing, going through different women every night. He has never been able to get over the one that got away. Nora moved away from Connelly while they were in high school, but always kept tabs on him. She wanted to know where he was and what he was doing, she just didn’t want him to find her. The chemistry between them is so hot, from the first time they see each other again. KL Kreig has done such a great job in this series of writing memorable characters and Connelly + Nora are no different. It’s another emotional book as you feel all of the emotions that Connelly + Nora are going through. It will have you tearing up and then in the next few pages, you will feel the hope of a new beginning. The writing is well done and the story of Connelly + Nora is a great ending to a great series. Each book, including Destination Connelly, is a standalone story about each brother. You don’t need to read them all, but they’re so hot, you’ll want to.

Unspoken Words by H.P. Davenport – This is H.P. Davenport’s debut novel and she knocks it out of the park! This is a great best friends-to-lovers romance with a tragic event that can derail everything that both Cami and Jamie have worked towards their whole lives. There is a lot of emotion in this book, prepare for some tears, and this group of friends is a tight knit group. I was glad to see Cami’s brother support and encourage this relationship instead of threatening Jamie to stay away from his sister. There is so much love and support in this group. I adored all of the characters. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of these characters. Great read!

Hooker (L.A. Liaisons Book 2) by Brooke Blaine – Another great rom-com! Love it! Shayne works as a matchmaker for a local dating service. Her friends refer to her as a hooker since she hooks people up. Nate is a graduate student whom Shayne connects with on the subway. Ironically, they are both headed to a pant-less party at a local bar. From their first encounter where they are both in their Star Wars skivvies, you can see they are meant to be. Their chemistry is off the charts! Shayne is hard headed and pushes Nate away, but as much as she pushes, Nate persists in pursuing her. Nate is not only persistent, but he is a nice guy and wants Shayne to be happy. Love a guy like Nate! They have witty banter and it was a lot of fun to read the scenes where they go back and forth. Shayne has a fierce group of friends who we met in Licked (Book 1). Each of the books can be read as a standalone. The friends, Quinn, Paige and Ryleigh are also a lot of fun and always have Shayne’s back. The dialogue between all of the characters was a lot of fun and this was a really great read. I can’t wait for Paige’s story which is next! Great summer romantic comedy!

As of 7.23.16, all four titles are all available on Kindle Unlimited.
