RATING: READ IT
Blitzed by Lauren Landish – This book makes me think….Are you ready for some football??? This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I was sorry that I kept it waiting on my TBR for so long! I really liked this story! I absolutely loved Troy! OMG! What a perfect man. And since we know those don’t exist, well it was fun to read his story. Whitney is a scared girl when she gets pregnant at 18 and makes some bad decisions and then makes a few more as an adult before getting her head screwed on correctly, but I really did love this story. And there is nothing sexier than a hot dad. Laurie is Whitney + Troy’s daughter and she is precious. The way Troy interacts with her from the get go, you know that he will be a terrific father even though he had the worst father ever. I definitely want to continue to read the series!
Jackson by Eve Jagger – Jackson is one sexy bastard! Jackson and his group of friends are known in town as the sexy bastards. They are all settling down and Jackson is one of the last bachelors of the group. He is looking to settle down. Skylar is a firecracker and everything in life should be an adventure. She doesn’t believe in relationships and is always looking for a thrill. When Jackson enters her life, and sitting on the couch watching a movie is something she looks forward to, Sky knows she is in deep. I loved Jackson in Knox and was excited to read his story. He is the protective older brother and I knew when he fell, he would fall hard. It was fun to watch him fall for Sky and try to be adventurous with her. It brought out the fun and playful side of him that others didn’t get to see. My only issue was with Skylar. She seemed almost too immature. And with one of the things she did, I just didn’t see how their relationship could withstand what happened. I don’t want to give it away because I really enjoyed the book overall, and Skylar does do some growing up so that she and Jackson can get their happily ever after. I continue to love the sexy bastards and their girls!
It Took a Rumor by Carter Ashby – This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It is a small town romance. Ivy is an educated young woman who comes back to work with her dad at their family ranch. The neighbors next door have four boys and Ivy is rumored to be sleeping with one or more of them! As it turns out, Ivy only has eyes for one of the Deathridge boys, but is keeping the secrets of the others. This is a good story about how small town gossip can tear people down, but also help them to face their demons and move forward. Ivy is a strong heroine and the Deathridge boys are all unique in their own way. And, of course, the one Ivy falls for is perfect for her. A good read.
Island Kisses by Krista Lakes – I love this series. It’s just a sweet romance series. The guys are always hot, alpha billionaires and the girls are always sassy, sweet heroines. This story was no different. We have Harper, who writes for a dating blog and Gabe, who owns a dating website. When they meet sparks fly. I loved how Harper writes about bad dates, and when she has a good one, she doesn’t quite know what to make of it. Harper is funny and witty and her blog made me laugh out loud. I loved everything about Gabe, including his vulnerability. This is book nine in The Kisses Series, however, each book is a standalone. You see some of the same characters throughout the series, but each can be read as a standalone. This was a good short read with a sweet story.
