RATING: READ IT
I admit to being a proponent of romance/erotica stories involving characters in their 30s and 40s. Characters that have had a chance to live life and learn from it. Characters, heroines, in particular, that the reader can identify with and connect to. Well, be careful what you wish for as you just might get it. Of course, if it’s as good as Winter Renshaw’s Reckless, wish for much more!!
Reckless is the story of Maren + Dante, a 30-something recently divorced mother of two and the late 20-something man that helps her learn what love is and how it should be. Yes, you read that correctly, we have a May-December romance with the lady being older! Mind blown! But love knows no age, and Maren + Dante seem destined for one another. Then again, destiny can be a fickle jerk and what seems too perfect to be true just may be.
I found myself drawn to Maren on so many levels. Not only because she finds herself having to start over when she thought life was worked out, but because she’s willing to roll her sleeves up and do what’s needed. I also found her a bit heroic, because when she felt the need to be most guarded, she decided to trust someone and lower the wall. That, above all else, is what I’m seeking in my own life. The ability to find balance and continue to remain true to self. Of course, having a fella willing to send some seriously steamy text messages would help any girl lower her defenses!
As of 10.04.16, Reckless is available on Kindle Unlimited.
