Crowded by Eleanor Green – What an intriguing read! This book is like nothing I’ve read recently and I really enjoyed it. I don’t want to give the plot away, so I won’t tell you about the story, except that if you like a romantic suspense story with a twist, this is a great read! You will root for Anna + Pratt as you read the story. The writing is great and will keep you drawn in until the early morning hours. I read it all in a day because I had to see what was going to happen next. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and will definitely go and check out her other books. Going in blind to this one is the best thing I could have done. Really good story that will hold your interest.
Grasping Air by Carrie Aarons – This book makes me miss the Olympics and watching all of the gymnastics! I love the way Jared + Peyton and the gang bring us back into the world of gymnastics now that we are a few months past Rio. Jared + Peyton are both at the end of their careers as gymnasts. Following a fling four years earlier, Jared + Peyton couldn’t get along with one another. They had broken each other’s hearts. Now, they are put out on tour together for months. This story shows us that second chances are possible and there is always a chance to get it right. Peyton needs to let go of her trust issues and take a leap with Jared who has never stopped loving her. These characters have grown up in total opposite environments. That is part of what made me love them together. As a reader, I’m always guessing where the story will go that will cause the main characters to break up or their big conflict. Most of the time I’m right with where the story goes. This one threw me a curve ball and I loved that! This was a really good read. This is book 2 in the Flipped series, but can be read as a stand alone.
Catching Fireflies by Terri E. Laine – If you love a good college romance, this is it! Brie + Chance meet as freshmen. Chance has had his heart ripped out by both his mother and his girlfriend of four years. When he meets Brie, he connects with her quickly and starts to fall for her. The pain of his past is too fresh and he pushes Brie away. Two years later, Chance has tried to forget about Brie and move on, but he realized that she is everything to him. Brie was destroyed by Chance walking away their freshman year. She doesn’t think she has it in her to give him a second chance. This book was a great book about a second chance at love. The group of friends that surround Brie + Chance are easy to love. They are a close knit family and we learn a lot about them all. I love how Chance, who doesn’t have a family at home, has found a family in this group. This is the second book with these characters, but can be read as a stand alone. I didn’t read the first book, but after meeting these characters I want to go back and read it.
Rock Hard by Christine Bell – This is a book composed of three novellas. They are each short and can be read in one sitting. Each novella focuses on a band member in the band. The first book, focuses on the relationship between Quinn, Rex and Beau. Quinn is the lead singer and loves both Beau and Rex. They have both confessed their love for her as well, but she can’t choose between the two of them. After watching them with groupies night after night, she gives into the temptation to spend the night with both of them. When she wakes up in Rex’s arms, she realizes that she loves Beau, but is IN love with Rex. Beau realizes that Quinn and Rex were meant to be together and he loves Quinn, too, but is not in love with her like Rex is. This gives us the opening for book two. Beau meets Gigi, who is hired as the band’s private chef. Gigi turns Beau’s playboy life on its head and he can’t figure out why he can’t get her out of his mind. He may have met his match. In the third book, we have Tai, who is the newest member of the band. He had his heart ripped out of his chest ten years prior and hasn’t loved since. When Christa shows up at one of their shows, he wants nothing to do with her. Will he be able to let her back in for a second chance at love? All were good stories.
