“You said I’d forget. I haven’t. I can’t. And I don’t want to.” ~ The Player and the Pixie
Unforgettable. That’s what The Player and the Pixie (Rugby Book Two) is. Unique, funny, sexy and oh, so good.
I won’t lie, I was worried about how I would react to Sean Cassidy—book one’s antagonist and book two’s hero—but I needn’t have. L.H. Cosway + Penny Reid absolutely nailed it.
Seriously. NAILED IT.
This book was so much fun, and Sean’s… issues (and his douchiness) made him one of the most unlikely heroes I’ve ever read. Who writes a romance novel where the hero is terrible in bed? And who makes it IMPOSSIBLE to put down? These authors do. I was so invested in Lucy + Sean, and their unlikely, forbidden, flirty relationship. I was amused by it, turned on by it, so completely and utterly in LOVE with it, I could barely stop myself from diving straight into the next one in the series, just to have more time with these characters, more time in this infectious, amusing and wonderful book world.
So, I didn’t. I girded my loins and dived in to Bryan + Eilish’s story. Which, of course, brings me to the recently-released The Cad and the Co-Ed (Rugby Book Three).
FORKING hell, people. This book is—and I’m saying this as calmly as I can manage—BRILLIANT. I love, love, loved everything about it. This is heartfelt, funny romance done exactly right, and this couple definitely stole my heart. And my time. I couldn’t—I didn’t—put it down and I have exactly ZERO regrets.
These characters, though. Bryan, the lovable, reformed cad, Eilish, the strong, erstwhile co-ed, William, the kind, honorable one (to name a few). Not to mention Sean, the stylish former player. Like I said above, I wasn’t sure about Sean after book one, but I fell head over heels for him in book two, and now, after finishing book three? I am verily OBSESSED with him.
Truth time: I’m not just obsessed with Sean (although, who could blame me?!). I am OBSESSED with this entire series. Each book has given me feels, made me laugh out loud, caused my heart to swell and my panties to melt, and I can only hope that there will be more of them in future *cough William cough*, because I NEED them.
Because they’re UNFORGETTABLE.
She didn’t deserve to be forgotten.
She deserved to be treasured. ~ The Cad and the Co-Ed
