Dirty Talker by Piper Rayne

What’s that saying? Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, and I’m an idiot who needs to stay far, far away from Dane Murray.

I have to admit, I was apprehensive about Dirty TalkerAfter all, while I really enjoyed Real Deal, I wasn’t always enamored with Dane. He was just a little too much for my tastes. So, it stands to reason that I’d be a little unsure of what to expect out of a book centered on him.

Turns out, I should not have worried.

The Dane we see in Dirty Talker has the same spirit and charm that was glimpsed, teased in Real Deal but his antics and screaming are dialed back. Way back. And the end result is a lovable, admirable, dirty talkin’ man. A yummy, yummy man, at that.

This was another sweet story from Piper Rayne, a writing duo I’m coming to count on as dependable for a really fun, flirty and frenetic fall into love. This book, like the others I’ve read from them, is fast-paced (sometimes, perhaps too fast, with an air of being… rushed), and laced with humor and heat.

Actually, heat downplays what Dane + Ava share. They’re a well-matched, electric pair; hot words, kinky ideas, open-minds—and mouths—abound as they fuck their way through friend-with-benefits, straight into feelings.

And in the end, it’s the feelings that really sold me on this book.

Yes, Dane + Ava cornered the market on sexy, but those final pages were just lovely. A truly rewarding ending for lovers of romance and HEAs and true love. Which might be why I’m so excited for the next member of the Single Dads Club to hit my Kindle.

That’s right, Garrett + Charlie are up next and that is a book I am excited to read. I might have had some apprehensions about Dirty Talker but I have exactly zero about Sexy Beast… and, I’m happy to report, zero qualms about Dane anymore, either.

“Our life together might be more like a roller coaster, but I want you next to me on it. Otherwise the ride isn’t going to be any fun.”

As of 06.13.2017, Dirty Talker and Real Deal are available on Kindle Unlimited.
