RATING: BUY IT
It was time to jump. The doors were flung wide open, the whole world outside. It was scary and hard and I didn’t know what the future held but I had to do it.
I had to.
My gosh, you guys. Bohemian has to be one of the most beautiful, poetic books I’ve read this year. Maybe ever. It reads like every word was chosen with care, with insight, with the hope that it will impact the reader.
And it did. At least, for me, it did.
Typically, I’m a fast reader; racing through words and worlds like Usain Bolt at the Olympics. But there is no rushing this book. Kathryn Nolan has a written book that’s a marathon—an intense, smart, sexy and soulful one.
Cal + Lucia are going to go down as a favorite couple of mine—from their shared joy in literature, to the fact that their love grew between the bookshelves, they’re living a fictional life that I’d so love to call real.
As a kid, I dreamed of owning a bookstore, of being surrounded by pages and pages and pages of adventure and romance and mystery. It didn’t happen, but here, in Bohemian, it was briefly resurrected. With a little bit of fateful love and whimsy, to boot.
This is this first time I’ve read Ms. Nolan, and certainly not the last. Her careful, caring way with words has made a fan out of me and I can’t wait for what comes next. (Gabe and Josie, YASSS!)
A bolt of lightning, an electric current; everything in the bookstore turned a pale blue.
But Lucia glowed, brightly turquoise.
As of 10.01.2017, Bohemian is available with Kindle Unlimited.
