Countdown to Midnight by Katy Regnery

“I’m sick of dreaming about you, Bets.”
“What do you want?”
“The real thing.”

To say I was delighted to find Countdown to Midnight by Katy Regnery on Kindle Unlimited would be an understatement. Released in the lead-up to Christmas, I hadn’t had the chance to read this final installment in the Blueberry Lane series—much to my own disappointment.

Well, I’ve remedied that. Countdown to Midnight is in the bag—and most definitely on the Buy It list for me. CDtM

The story of two sisters, and two brothers, this book is charming and lighthearted, and Ms. Regnery gives her readers the best of herself and of this series—swoony, sexy men and sweet, smart women. I was hooked from page one, and remained that way through the fulfilling epilogue.

I loved the way these two couples balanced and complemented each other—for Merit + Elizabeth {Betsy}, it was a matter of overcoming past hurts, while for Amity + Jane, it was all about timing. Both couples had history and obstacles but neither overshadowed the other, a feat in and of itself.

Not only that, there was just something so . . . hopeful and joyful about this book. Maybe it was the New Year’s setting, or maybe it was the flawlessness of the Atwell brothers and Story sisters. Whatever it might be, it boils down to one simple fact: Countdown to Midnight is quick, easy and rewarding read—and one that will leave you with a full, happy heart.

To say I was delighted to see this novella at all {not just in KU} would be another understatement. I’d been sorely disappointed by the announcement that the Blueberry Lane series would be ending midway through the Story Sisters, but this holiday gem was just the balm I needed to soothe—and thrill—my heart.

“What would it take, Jane?” he asked impulsively, his heart beating out of his chest. He bent his head forward so that his lips brushed the shell of her ear as he spoke. “What would it take for you to give us a chance?”

As of 01.09.2018, Countdown to Midnight is available with Kindle Unlimited.
