His Heart by Claire Kingsley

his heartOne of my reading goals for 2018 is to try some new authors. I usually get so caught up in ARCs and other deadlines that I’m rarely able to go to my TBR and choose something different to read. I knew Claire Kingsley was coming to KU Korner to do bedtime stories and her book, His Heart, is one I’ve really wanted to read. So, I made time and grabbed some tissues and—

I knew from reading the blurb that this was going to be a book in which I would most definitely cry. What I didn’t expect was to be so engrossed by the story. Brooke + Sebastian broke my heart again and again at what they went through. The pain and the emotion consumed me. They were both such strong people to get through their darkest days, and when they finally admitted their feelings for one another, I cried for the slightest glimmer that these two were going to make it.

There is so much heartache and just plain heartbreak in this story, and His Heart became so embedded in my head that I actually dreamt about the story. It’s the first time that has ever happened to me.

Something else that I loved that I want to mention was the bromance between Sebastian and Charlie. There weren’t many people that stood by Sebastian but Charlie was there through it all. I adored how we got to see Charlie’s journey through the book as well—I may need to start a campaign for a Charlie book!

So many feelings with this story. Brooke + Sebastian’s story wove itself into my heart and my dreams. This truly is a survivor story. This weekend, you need to grab a box of tissues and cuddle up with His Heart.

As of 01.11.18, His Heart is available with Kindle Unlimited.
