Royal Ruin by Jessica Peterson

RATING: BUY IT

royal ruinCan’t get enough of all of the Prince Harry/Meghan Markle wedding chatter? Love all things royal? If the answer is yes, then I have just the story for your royal infatuation! And even if the answer is no, Jessica Peterson’s Royal Ruin is sure to suck you into the royal craziness.

I was able to read Royal Ruin at the end of 2017 and, let me say, I was thrilled to end my year with a hero like Kit. Since then, I have been patiently waiting to shout from the rooftops about this book and hero. He had me swooning from early on {and was a prince to boot}, which meant I was in heaven! Kit treats Emily like a princess from the get-go and is nothing but kind to her, even though it’s as hard for him to trust as it is for her.

Emily isn’t the perfect princess material and that’s exactly what drew me to her. I loved her personality, and the way she treated Kit and his family like people, not like royalty. Kit’s family plays a significant part in the story, as you can imagine with any royal clan. The sibling banter is full of humor and laugh-out-loud moments, and I loved how the family accepted Emily and pulled her into the fold as one of their own.

There was one specific chapter of this story—one where I felt so deeply for Emily + Kit and shared their emotions—that was so perfectly written, it gave me all of the feels. If Royal Ruin is any indicator of what the rest of this series is going to bring, I’m all in! Great read!

As of 01.18.18, Royal Ruin is available with Kindle Unlimited.
