Come A Little Closer by Kim Karr

RATING: BUY IT

come a little closerI love a versatile author—one who can write everything. Kim Karr is one such author, and I’m always excited to see what she’s writing next. I have loved her rom-coms, her angsty romance and her romantic suspense. One of my all-time favorite scenes comes from her Detroit Love duet—a shower scene that makes me hot just thinking about it! She can write some insanely hot stuff, and I was thrilled to see her venture back toward romantic suspense with Come A Little Closer.

Sadie + Jaxson are both struggling with their past: Sadie blames herself for things that were beyond her control—they’ve warped her self-perception, and made her believe she isn’t a good person; Jaxson’s fiancé left him and he can’t help but feel lost. When these two meet, their chemistry is instant and you know what’s coming will be HOT!  Their story had a lot of depth, with an array of emotions portrayed. It was the perfect balance of grief and lust.

Ms. Karr writes each character in a way that feels you know them. In fact, one of the reasons I have loved her books is because I feel like I know each of the people in the story. If it’s a group of friends she’s writing about, I find myself wanting a book for each of them, she has such a great way of pulling you in. Even characters who I don’t expect to like or want more of their story, like Jaxson’s ex-fiancé and her husband, I end up liking.

Jaxson + Sadie’s story had me staying up late since I couldn’t put it down. It wasn’t what I was expecting when I picked it up—I was intrigued with all of the twists and turns and couldn’t wait to see where the story went. It was definitely one of those stories that keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Ms. Karr continues to write home runs as far as I’m concerned. I can’t wait to see where she heads next! Make sure to grab Come A Little Closer for this weekend!

As of 04.05.18, Come A Little Closer is available with Kindle Unlimited.
