Even the Score by Beth Ehemann

even the scoreI met Beth Ehemann at a book signing in August of 2016. She was a new-to-me author, and I loved hearing from her about her books. I knew then that they sounded like something I’d love to read. Fast forward one and a half years later . . . and, thanks to the wonderful listen/read feature available with some KU books, I was able to finally get to my first book by Ms. Ehemann, Even the Score.

I am a huge fan of single dad books. From the very beginning, Andy stole my heart with the way he treated his kids, and how they were the single most important thing in his life. When Andy meets Danicka, the spark is instantaneous and I couldn’t wait for them to finally connect! Danicka is such a strong female lead and, between her kick butt personality and my swooning over Andy, I fell head over heels in love with this story.

The writing pulled me in from the very beginning. I obviously haven’t read any of Ms. Ehemann’s other books, but now I know I have to after meeting Andy’s friends—I need to know more about this group and what they’ve been through. There is also one of his friends who doesn’t have a book yet, and I will be first in line when his book comes out . . .

Ms. Ehemann’s writing style was easy for me to get lost in. I couldn’t wait to get in my car to listen, and then continue the story when I got home. There was suspense to this story, too, which made it hard to put down at any point. The characters were well written and so relatable that, although it took me a while to get to this fantastic book, once I started, I didn’t want it to end. Because Andy + Danicka’s story is a memorable one.

P.S. For those of you who are audio listeners, there are a lot of KU books available with free audio when you download the book with KU. I have been able to move through so many books on my TBR with this wonderful feature!

As of 04.10.18, Even the Score is available with Kindle Unlimited.
