KU Sunday Spotlight by KUBR + OCA

Welcome back to the KU Sunday Spotlight, brought to you by KU Book Reviews + the One-Click Addict Support Group. This week, a book that’s as vibrant and wild as its Big Sur setting, and that perfectly balances poetry, kink and love. As always, enjoy!

Of everything we’d done, this moment was going to carve itself into my memories, the way water shapes a canyon.

My thoughts are something of a mess right now, but one thing is clear. Kathryn Nolan’s Landslide is easily one of the best books I have read this year. It left me with a feeling that’s probably best described using wild arm-and-hand movements and borderline incoherent noises; a feeling that’s almost too big.

39934158._UY2400_SS2400_I feel like I’ve been waiting for Gabe + Josie. Not just because I LOVED Bohemian—and left that book wanting and wishing to know more of their story—but because their story is so unique, so engaging, so dirty-hot and overwhelmingly romantic. It’s a love story that’s as bright and wild as the Big Sur setting, and filled with meaning and purpose and hope.

So much hope. As a reader, this is the kind of book I hope to find every time I start something new. As a writer myself, this is the kind of story I hope to tell. And, as a soft-hearted romantic {sometimes hiding in a cynic’s body}, I hope that more people discover this kind of fate.

Actually, what I hope is that more people discover this book. Because Landslide deserves to be shouted about, shared, discovered and loved. Ms. Nolan should be on everyone’s radar as an author who can blur the lines between poetry and kink and love, and pull it together in a story that’s just too big to properly explain.

I felt, keenly, the inevitability of this moment. And even though it made me feel wild and out of control, I wanted to lean into it. Embrace the chaos.

As of 05.13.2018, Landslide is available with Kindle Unlimited.
