Crave by Adriana Locke

craveI was ecstatic to go back to the Gibson Boys series! When I came home last weekend to find Crave by Adriana Locke on my Kindle, I knew it was going to be a long—but good—night.

Ms. Locke has built a world in the Gibson Boys and Landry Family series that is incredibly special. The characters are real and flawed but so loveable. They all carry their own baggage but, then again, who doesn’t?! Ms. Locke does such an amazing job at painting her characters with raw emotion and vulnerability, it’s hard not to love each and every one of them.

Machlan + Hadley’s story is a second chance romance. They loved each other deeply as kids, but life happened and they parted ways. Machlan is my favorite kind of hero—a guy who loves deeply and has such vulnerability, but covers it all up to come off as a jerk. He is so afraid of hurting Hadley that he pushes her away time and time again. What he doesn’t understand is THAT is what hurts her the most. His heart is so big, he just needs to open it up to the girl he has loved his whole life and trust in that love.

Hadley is a fierce leading lady who has finally reached a turning point in her life. She has always loved Machlan, but she can’t watch him walk away from her one more time. She needs closure on a relationship that has haunted her. Hadley is so strong and resolute with what she must do, and I found her character refreshing. I loved that she wanted closure, yet when Machlan opened himself up to her, wasn’t afraid to let him in her heart again—even if it meant crushing her later.

These two broke my heart throughout this story. I cried for the kids they were and the things they went through. They both turned into extraordinary people who needed to find their way back to each other. Crave was beautifully told and so heartfelt. I fall more and more in love with the Gibson Boys with each book. Mach has completely captured my heart. Excellent read!

As of 10.04.18, Crave is available with Kindle Unlimited.
