I often say that a book comes into my life when I need it—to send me a message that serves as a turning point, one I really needed to remind me just how precious life is, and to savor every moment.
A Five Minute Life by Emma Scott was just that—a book that spoke to me and reassured me that life is filled with moments. Sad moments, beautiful moments, heartbreaking moments, and moments so fulfilling, they take your breath away.
I went into this book completely blind and I encourage you to do the same. Just know that it is an incredibly written, heartbreaking yet beautiful story of love between two broken people.
Jim + Thea brought me to tears, both happy and sad. I was so emotionally invested in this story—I laughed, I ached, and most of all, I fell in love.
“Nothing ever lasts, good or bad… That’s why we have to live as much as we can, as hard as we can, every moment.”

“Because what are we if we aren’t our memories? Who are we without them? Where are we in this life? They anchor is to all the who, what, and where. Without memory, we might as well be dead.”
